I get my political news and commentary about politics in the United States from the same source as most Americans, that is The Daily Show with Jon Stewart.
Up until earlier this year you could watch entire episodes, for free, over the internet, advertising and all. But because there is such a thing as copyright lawyers, or as they shuld be refered to, human stains, alas, this is no more. This service has been blocked for all visitors outside of the US! Don't you think that if people are willing to watch your show, commercials and all, that it might be good idea to let them? Even if they come from that scary place that is outside of US? More links after the jump (klick the "Read more"-button right now!).
But I recently discovered that if you are willing to select a date first to get a list of short clips (The Daily Show videos), that constitute an entire show. Then watch them one at a time, just by clicking the next one in the list when the first one is finished you can se entire shows again. Here is the funny part, which makes you belive that Shakespeare was right, there are no commercials! Can you belive it? You can still get your Daily Show fix, commercial free, and laugh at bat-shit crazy politicians and the best ever and funniest commentary on US and World politics, that is the marvellous Daily Show. Jon Stewart is the man! His way of hearing something stupid and reacting to it while looking stright into the camera without saying anything for a while is priceless.
Jon Stewart doing what he does best...
Looking into the camera. Comic timing and facial expressions at its best. This particular clip disussies different theories regarding where one cheating senator has disappeard to. Jump to about 1.15 to see it. Also: This clip is from june 23, 2009 if you want to see the rest of them. .
Also – The tagline for the Daily Show is: The Daily Show with Jon Stewart: it's even better than being informed.
I love that! More on the show is here. About The Daily Show. Also here in Wikipedia. The Colbert Report
Also, equally funny is The Colbert Report. Same deal there, you can watch clips of the Colbert Report that make up an entire show here: Colbert Nation Video Clips. But make sure to not click the tempting link "Watch full episode", since it for reasons explained above, doesn't work outside the US. The Colbert Report is the show where a fictional news anchor played by his real life namesake from the ultra right wing reads and comments on news and events, in a way that is the logical extension of some silly arguments that come from those crazy people, like Bill O'Reilly. This make theese argument look exactly like the crazy tripe they are, also, it's a lot of fun. The character is described by Stephen Colbert "well-intentioned, poorly informed high-status idiot". That's what this Wikipedia article says anyways. Enjoy!
