Re: Job opening as an IT-support/IT-representative for education etc.
Hello!
First things first: This webpage/email or PDF is an attempt to introduce myself and my deep knowledge and long practial experience of IT solutions and education. Since I spent the last 18 years as an IT-consultant you will not find a long list of earlier employments as support-technican and similar roles. My business was building adminstrative systems for different purposes for numerous bransches of industry and offer support on them and a myriad of other systems and solutions. In lack of this list of employments I hope to show you some of the projects and work samples instead and some very impressive lists of acronyms and names of technologies and solutions I have worked with, to hopefully convince you of my knowledge and experience. Besides this text, there is more information in my online CV (swedish only)..
Worth noting is also my long experience as a teacher and educator and my long fascination for everything that has do do with learning (se a few of my books below). Among earlier employments are head teacher for an multimediaproductioncource (two semesters long). I have also produces a lot of e-learning and digital content through the years. In my business I got a lot of work teacher/educator for adults, and developed business solutions for training companies and universities. Often tied to learning managements systems.
I have also recently learned all about distance education and remote teaching. I my latest employment for instance, I gave a bunch of classes on Zoom, Skype and everything Google and produced the cource material. I have been a part of live-events with several cameras and lead and been a part of online classes. Have worked with several LMS, CMS and e-learning platforms.
Since my customers and also myself over the years has worked with different kinds of systems and solutions I have a pretty unique insight in a lot of them. More importantly, how to find different solutions for a problem and the tech support/manuals to do whatever the customer needs. More on this later, but it's safe to say that whatever you want me to work with is fine. I will, if not already, pick up how it works very fast. The more IT you know, the easier it is to learn more of it.
Among interesting projects I built there are examples of such different things as LMS-solutiuons, salaries, geocoding, fracture-cases from a clinic at a university hospital, student/teacher/courses information for universities and teaching companies, ecommerce, current and past energy production from windmills, invoicing, book-keeping, digital printing, price/duties-calculation for import/export from/to 26 countries and logistics.
Social media, high volume mailinglists, mediaproduction (print, illustrations, sound and video), website development in different CMS systems and ecommerce solutions are all things I have worked with.
As a small business owner I did all my book-keeping including taxes, and annual reports.
For some administrative roles you would like applicants to have experience in teaching and project management, and I have that too.
Why do I apply?
I feel I'm a good candidate for this position since I have all of the qualifications you mention in the ad. Plus maybe one or two more things not mentioned in the ad in my talent-stack (in swedish) that could be very useful for you as an employer, for instance deep technical know-how, writing skills, media production and much more.
I have missed being a part of education for a while and it would be fun to get back into it.
